Hey everyone,
As a cover grrl for the tribe I thought it time to get the ball rolling here. Not really a lot to say but Hi! I am getting myself ready to trip to India in the winter. That is if I can ever get a decent flight... Anyone else doing any awesome travel this winter?

Sun, December 21, 2003 - 7:28 AMI've been based in Whitechapel for the last nine years. I love it round here. -

Sun, December 21, 2003 - 7:56 AMWhitechapel is great if you can avoid the chains of tourists doing the ripper tours -

Re: New members...
Mon, December 22, 2003 - 7:40 AMI forgot to mention that me and a few mates are organising a radical/queer walking tour of east London next Monday (29th). Meeting at the London Action Resource Centre (LARC - 62 Fieldgate Street in Whitechapel) at 1pm. If you know anyone who's going to be in London next week who might enjoy it, please let them know. There's a two quid donation to raise funds for the Pink Pauper Propaganda Project.
Cheers

Highlights of the walking tour
Wed, December 24, 2003 - 4:17 AMWell folks, amongst other places, we'll be visiting:
* the site of the queeruption iv gathering (in a building on the appropriately named Batty Street)
* quietly celebrating one of the few remaining 'active' cottages (tearooms) in east London, that's been providing a queer public service for 102 years now
* the (approximate) site of a 18th century molly house on Bishopsgate
* remembering the (sadly missed) Pride of Stepney pub (which used to coyly advertise its 'interactive games room')
* the site of a squatted gay social centre from the mid-70s
All that and loads of Jewish anarchist haunts from the 1890s and 1900s, and other bits of the area's rich radical history. Oh, and no mention of Jack the Ripper if I can possibly help it. We got some fabulous homemade glitzy pink plaques to put up along the route too and will have a mobile 12volt sound system with us as well.
So, Macro, tell me about the Barcelona walks...
